PMI Malaysia PRISM Event Review: AI-Driven Innovation Trail Blazing Next-Gen Project Success

Hello there, friends of 57Network! We’re excited to share the key takeaways and moments from our recent PRISM event by PMI Malaysia. On July 23rd and 24th, 2024, we came together for a day of learning and discovered the subtle yet impactful role of AI in shaping project management success across various industries. Let’s review the summary of the key takeaways from the event.

The PRISM conference was held for two days. The event attracted over 300 attendees from different organizations both virtually and physically. Hosted at Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur, the conference was honored by the presence of YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital Malaysia as the esteemed guest of honor. The event featured a selection of expert speakers, including Vivien from 57Network, who provided valuable insights about AI for organizational success.

Here are some key takeaways:

Future-Proofing Skills: Understanding how AI is reshaping various industries and the critical skills needed to stay ahead in this fast-evolving landscape. The business transformation examples shared by panelists/industry leaders underscored the real-world impact and relevance of AI in transforming industries.
Leading in AI Adoption: Exploring how being early adopters of AI technology can provide significant advantages in efficiency, decision-making, and overall project success.
Data Security and Risks: Addressing the importance of robust data security measures and understanding the potential risks associated with AI, ensuring responsible and ethical use of technology.

During the event, I was personally impressed by how AI is used for work management and across various industries that are integrating AI into their operations. For example, in the healthcare sector Ms. Rajeshwari, Head of APAC (Business and 5G), Apoqlar Holomedicine Technologies shared that the documentation practices in clinical AI features are detailed to comply with regulatory standards and also details on patient safety liability. They do keep the software separately with non clinical features where releases can be precise and short, but with clinical use (meaning if it's used by surgeons) they have to do comprehensive documentation, including thorough risk management protocols, to meet stringent medical regulations in EU and US.

One of the most striking insights I took away came from Mr. Tao Chun Liu, Vice President of International Affairs at PMI Taipei, Taiwan. He illuminated how AI, particularly Generative AI, is revolutionizing project management by automating essential tasks such as report preparation, data consolidation, and information gathering. He also emphasized AI's powerful potential to tackle real-world project management challenges head-on, from pinpointing issues within a project to effectively managing stakeholder relationships.

The valuable insights and knowledge shared by the esteemed speakers were truly enriching. The event was a treasure trove of valuable insights, leaving me inspired and better equipped to leverage AI-driven innovation in project management. However, we must remember that no matter how advanced AI becomes, it exists not to replace us, but to enhance our productivity, streamline processes, and foster collaboration.

“At the recent PRISM conference hosted by PMI Malaysia, I had the chance to dive into "Embracing AI for Project Management for Organizational Success." I talked about how we’re all project managers these days, juggling various tasks and projects, and whether we have the right tools to handle it all. I showcased some cool ways AI can step in—like offering personalized help, generating formulas on the fly, and turning data into meaningful graphs. Personally, I found the other speakers' insights on AI in industries like oil and gas, healthcare, and finance truly eye-opening.
