Reported by: Nurul Addina Azime As 2025 comes to a close, this year has been a meaningful journey of reflecting on how people experience work and what organisations can do better to support them. Throughout the year, my writing focused heavily on understanding today’s workforce, why employees disengage, what they truly expect from leaders, and how respect, trust, and compassion play a critical role in shaping workplace culture. Insights from global research highlighted that people are no longer just looking for jobs, but for purpose, stability, and leaders who genuinely care. Another strong theme this year was growth and development. I explored the real challenges employees face when it comes to learning and career progression, and why organisations need to move beyond surface-level initiatives to create environments where growth is part of everyday work. Productivity was also redefined — shifting the conversation from working longer hours to working smarter, especially in remote and flexible work settings.
Wellbeing and stress management were equally central to the conversations in 2025. With work stress becoming increasingly common, the focus was on recognising its impact and encouraging organisations to take a more human and proactive approach to mental wellbeing, resilience, and sustainable performance. Looking back, 2025 reinforced a simple but powerful message: workplaces thrive when people do. By prioritising respect, growth, balance, and wellbeing, organisations can build cultures where employees are not just surviving — but truly thriving. And as we welcome 2026, 57Network remains committed to partnering with organisations to create workplaces where people and performance grow together.
